Learning Pathway, Blended Learning Delivery

Who is WACT – Based in Rotorua, WACT offers a wide range of community development programs to build the skills, knowledge and potential of people in their local communities. Operating for more than 15 years, WACT has extensive experience in supporting communities, families and individuals to lead financially stable, self-sustaining, healthier lives now, and for generations to come.

What they needed – WACT have hospitality and tourism focused cohorts of learners coming through on a regular basis. They needed short, meaningful skills-based online learning to enhance and compliment their face to face training, contributing to positive employment outcomes for their learners.

What we provided – A dynamic, meaningful learning experience offering introductory training for individuals interested in the visitor economy. Selected Grow Tourism core modules make up a custom learning pathway for WACT learners, delivered in a way that reinforces learning and complements their industry experience alongside WACT’s offerings. Chosen modules include Understanding the Visitor Economy, Delivering Outstanding Customer Experiences and Sustainability Storytelling. These modules further enhance learner skills across a range of topics, helping them to recognise the multitude of opportunities within the tourism and hospitality industry and to advance their careers. Grow Tourism also provides a dedicated account manager to monitor progress, run online check-ins and ensure solid communication with WACT to report on developments, without the need for heavy marking or monitoring.

“The learning is easy to engage with, they (the students) can go over it again and again and embed that learning and then put it into practice. Grow Tourism is helping set our clients up for success, understanding the visitor economy better and then taking that into future employment opportunities.”
